A Wonderful Word

I believe that one of the most wonderful words in the Bible is the word Come!

Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 6:35, 37: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 5:39-40: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Jeremiah 29:13: And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Jesus bids us who are completely unworthy of the privilege to come to Him. Faith in Him comes to Him. Receiving Him is coming to Him. Prayer is coming to Him. Seeking Him is coming to Him. Wanting to be saved by Him is coming to Him. Coming to Him is forsaking our sin. He welcomes His saved ones back whenever they go astray.

Those who disobey that wonderful word will hear a terrible word. The word is depart. Those who do not come to Him depart from Him. If they depart from Him all of their lives they will hear that terrible word one final time.

Matthew 7:23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
